My name is Ana Cecília Barbara. I’m a mother to two incredible children, Noah and Ella Barbara. After living in the United States for over nine years, our family chose a different rhythm — one guided by intentional presence, emotional connection, and a more personalized way of learning: homeschool.

This decision was not impulsive. It grew over time, as I observed my children’s unique ways of discovering the world. It became clear to me that education is not limited to walls, bells, and formal desks. It’s built in small moments, real conversations, quiet afternoons, and shared wonder.

As a mother and a psychopedagogy student, I view learning as an emotional and relational process. In our home, the heart leads, and the content follows.

Raising children between two cultures — Brazilian and American — is one of the most beautiful and challenging journeys I’ve walked. It means honoring the roots of where we come from while embracing the place where we live. It means blending traditions, navigating expectations, and creating a home that feels whole, even when it stretches across two worlds.

Language has been a core part of this process. Even though we are not in Brazil, I teach Portuguese to my children intentionally. Through stories, songs, and everyday conversations, I protect our mother tongue — not just as a tool, but as a memory, a connection, and a legacy.

This space was born from a desire to share — not answers, but reflections. To speak gently to the hearts of other mothers who, like me, are building a family with love, courage, and cultural richness.
